Doora jaati (also spelled as Dura) are one of the highly marginalized ethnic groups of Nepal. Their language is extremely close to extinction. The last remaining Dura Speaker, Soma Devi Dura is currently aging and is also battling poor health. Linguists are trying their best to provide her with the best possible health care. They are also doing their best to construct a Dura language dictionary before she passes away because with her being the last Dura speaker, one more ethnic language of the world may go extinct. Please read the External Links for more information on Dura language and Soma Devi Dura.
